The Havensis BOOST DCDC-2448 is a step-up DC-DC charger that raises a 12–32 V input and delivers it as charging current to a 36, 48, 60 or 72 V battery bank. It is designed especially for caravans and boats.
Caravan and boat systems with high-power inverters are often built on a 48 V battery bank, and electric boat motors and some vehicles' battery packs are also in the 36–72 V range. The vehicle's alternator, however, is 12 or 24 V. The BOOST DCDC-2448 bridges this gap: it also charges the high-voltage battery bank while the engine runs.
It draws at most 20 A from the input and delivers at most 15 A of charging current to the battery; conversion efficiency is 95%. It has a digital display connection, a 5 m extension cable and advanced protection circuits.
Built-in Bluetooth is optional and must be specified when ordering; write to us before you order if you want this option.

Connect the input
Connect the unit's input to the 12/24 V starter battery. The input current can reach 20 A, so choose the cable and fuse accordingly.

Connect the output
Connect the output to the 36–72 V battery bank with a suitable fuse close to the battery.

Place the display
Put the digital display where you can see it using the 5 m cable and follow the charging from there.
Installation tips
- Mount the unit close to the batteries in a ventilated, dry place and keep cable runs short.
- The current on the input side is much higher than on the output: drawing 20 A at a 12 V input sends about 4–5 A to a 48 V battery. Choose a thick input cable.
- Check that your alternator can handle the extra load; for newer vehicles with smart alternators, ask us.
- We recommend having an auto electrician install it; send us your system diagram on WhatsApp and we'll check it together.

No. The unit draws at most 20 A from the input; the current going into the battery depends on the input voltage and the battery voltage. Example: at a 24 V input it draws 24 V × 20 A = 480 W; at 95% efficiency about 8–9 A goes into a 48 V battery. At a 12 V input it is about 4–5 A for the same battery. The highest current is reached with a 24 V input and a 36 V battery bank.
